Calligraphy (“beautiful writing” in Greek) is an art of writing by hand. The Catholic monasteries had an important role in the development of the first European standardised writing during the year 700. Since then the western calligraphy has embraced certain specific features, e.g. the illumination of every first letter. Our goal is to keep this beautiful art alive.
